Teaching Philosophy

What is the foundation of Magnolia Preschool?
We are a state-licensed, screen-free, small-group preschool.

We spend a lot of time outside working on art projects, reading, exploring with music, using blocks and imaginary play.

Meals follow USDA standards and are included in tuition.

I am happy to support in potty training.

All activities and experiences are provided intentionally to nurture emotional, intellectual and physical growth. I have taken different aspects of many educational theories and cultivated a unique program. The children have opportunities to work independently and in groups throughout the day. The environment, activities, and teaching style at Magnolia Preschool foster the children's intrinsic motivation to explore and learn.

-
Natural play materials, gardening, art, creativity, animal care, and nature are foundational elements of the curriculum.

Our calm and warm environment will encourage individual exploration and extended focus on activities.
-
I offer kind, consistent, and clear expectations.
-
Collaborative activities, movement, art, free play, and child-directed learning are a part of our daily experiences.
-
Outdoor play- every day (rain or shine!) This includes picnics, movement, dance, sensory play, animal care, gardening, and general exploration of the environment.

Below you can see our classroom values. These are the building blocks of a successful and happy learning environment and they are nurtured and encouraged throughout our day.
